Patria de Cebu Opens Doors, Revitalizing Cebu’s Historic Downtown Event- and Sinulog-themed

Patria de Cebu Reopens as Revitalized Heritage Landmark in Downtown Cebu

Leading Visayas and Mindanao developer Cebu Landmasters, Inc. (CLI), in partnership with the Archdiocese of Cebu, has officially opened Patria de Cebu, a newly redeveloped mixed-use landmark located at the heart of Cebu City’s heritage trail along P. Burgos Street.

Spanning a combined
21,000 square meters of gross floor area, Patria de Cebu is a fully integrated development that features a shopping center, office spaces, and an international hotel—bringing renewed vibrancy to Cebu’s downtown district.

The redevelopment preserves the original Patria de Cebu structure while introducing a refreshed architectural design inspired by Filipino-Spanish heritage, ensuring the site’s historical significance, built over decades, remains intact.

Patria de Cebu is our way of honoring Cebu’s rich heritage and the unwavering faith of Cebuanos. We thoughtfully designed it to preserve its legacy and bring new life to the area for the community,” said Jose Soberano III, CLI Chairman and CEO.

A revitalized landmark, Patria de Cebu features an interior courtyard centerpiece and an open-air façade reminiscent of Rome’s historic gathering places. It serves as a natural meeting point within a Christ-centered historical setting, highlighted by its proximity to the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, located directly across the site.

Its hotel component, Mercure Cebu Downtown, marks CLI’s first international hotel in Cebu’s downtown area. Operated by French multinational hospitality group Accor, the hotel will add 182 rooms to CLI’s growing portfolio and is scheduled to open by end-2026.

In 2021, Patria de Cebu was recognized at the Property Guru Awards, winning Best Mega Mixed-Use Development, further underscoring its significance as a landmark urban redevelopment project in Cebu City.
